Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. Her childhood was spent listening to classic, old boleros, and traditional ranchero, romantic and ballads of romance. Ana enjoys tangos, as well as operas and other dramatic styles. Ana started to learn how to sing and play the piano as a child with her mother. The formal singing instruction at the age of 16 old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and then to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and young professional, she sang with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choruses in Guadalajara and Mexico City. When she moved to the United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present place in southern California. She is a current member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer in classic Latin American music at private occasions. She is involved with many local projects, both as performer and teacher, because she is passionate about art and music. Ana was also a part of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently teaching for The Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity communicate with other people her enthusiasm for the traditional Latin American music. She is hoping that it will encourage younger generations to help keep the music in the present.
